Sunrise Rotary Youth Sports Scholarships
Mission Statement: to provide financial support to Claremont
Athletes to encourage their participation in local sports.
Eligibility: Any child that attends a Claremont school (public or private) from ages 8 to 18 years old who is participating in a sport that is played in Claremont will be eligible.
Qualifications: Funds will be granted to the individual directly or through the league, organization, or club for costs related to registration costs that can include uniforms and equipment costs.
Amounts: Player awarded funds will be a minimum of $50 to a max of $250. No particular sport, club, group, or organization will receive more than $1000 in any calender year.
Procedure: Player or Team will fax or e-mail to our review committee the application. The request will include player's and/or team's name, sport, organization involved, limiting circumstances, requested amount, and school being attended.
Funds will be transferred directly to League or Player upon majority approval of the committee.
Committee: The Claremont Sunrise Rotary Club's Sports Scholarship Committee will be made up of five (5) members who will vote on each request. A majority vote will be required to approve each request. An annual review of funds will be provided to the board and presented to the club at a club assembly each year.

Claremont Sunrise Rotary donates funds to purchase new helmets for Claremont High Wolfpack football players.
Claremont, CA - August 16, 2012 - Claremont Sunrise Rotary announced today that they have awarded their 2012 President's Award to the Claremont High School Football Boosters to purchase new football helmets for the Varsity football players. The President's award is an annual gift to serve a specific need in the Claremont Community with the focus on the long term health and benefit of the youth in town.
"Thanks to the incredible donation by the Claremont Sunrise Rotary we are able to equip our Varsity Football team in the new Riddell Revolution Speed Helmet three years ahead of schedule! Thank you for caring about the safety of the Claremont Football players" Mike Collins, Head Football Coach Claremont High School.
"The main responsibility of the Claremont High School Football Boosters is to support the football program financially. This is a very difficult task during our present economic situation. We are very fortunate this year to have received financial support from Claremont Sunrise Rotary. With the generous donation they have given to our program, our Varsity players are now equipped with Riddell Revolution Speed helmets. These helmets are the latest in "Concussion Reduction Technology". This allows our players to feel more protected and confident while on the field. Claremont Sunrise Rotary raises funds with their Thanksgiving Day, " The Turkey Trot." Proceeds from this 5k run fund this Presidents award and have provided more than $30,000 in donations to Claremont youth sports programs.
